Maxime Ruiz est un photographe d’origine argentine. Il a travaillé avec de nombreux artistes tels Dominique Dalcan, Francis Cabrel, ou encore Marcio Faraco et il est l’auteur d’un incroyable portrait de Gaspar Noé.
Nous avons eu la chance qu’il accepte de répondre à 5 questions que nous lui avons posées. Nous l'en remercions.
Son style est direct : « oui », « non »… Quand nous lui demandons comment est né le projet de photographier Noé, il répond : « A la demande de Gaspar ».
Connaissait-il Noé ?
« Oui, depuis son tout premier film, Tintarella di luna. »
On imagine aisément, même s’il ne l’évoque pas, qu’il est un ami d’enfance (cette enfance argentine) de Gaspar Noé…
Ce qui explique aussi pourquoi Noé se tourne vers Ruiz pour réaliser ce portrait psychédélique. A cet instant, à notre grand étonnement, Maxime Ruiz évoque un autre cliché de Noé… Le portrait coloré d’un Noé jeune, chevelu, ironique et torse nu ne serait donc pas unique ?
Nous lui demandons comment s’est déroulée la séance photo (le deuxième portrait).
"Personne ne faisait attention à moi, Gaspar était extrêmement concentré car il pilotait une grue aux mouvements complexes. C'était pour la séquence finale d'Irreversible."
Ruiz était donc présent sur le tournage d’Irréversible ! Nous n’en saurons pas plus… S’agirait-il de cette fameuse photo, ultra présente sur le net ?
Là aussi, c'est le mystère...
Avez-vous pris d’autres clichés de Gaspar ?
"Oui."
A la fin, nous apprenons, sans surprise, qu’il est toujours en contact avec Noé. Pour une prochaine collaboration, espérons-le !

His style is direct: “yes”, “no”… When we ask him how the project to photograph Noé was born, he replies: “At the request of Gaspar”.
Did he know Noé?
“Yes, since his very first film, Tintarella di luna. "
We can easily imagine, even if he does not mention it, that he is a childhood friend (this Argentinian childhood) of Gaspar Noé ...
Which also explains why Noé turns to Ruiz to make this psychedelic portrait. At this moment, to our great astonishment, Maxime Ruiz evokes another cliché of Noé… So the colorful portrait of a young, hairy, ironic and shirtless Noé would not be unique?
We ask him how the photo shoot (the second portrait) went.
"No one was paying attention to me, Gaspar was extremely focused as he was piloting a crane with complex movements. It was for the final sequence of Irreversible."
Ruiz was therefore present on the set of Irréversible! We will not know more ... Could it be this famous photo, ultra present on the net?
There too, it is the mystery...
Have you taken any other pictures of Gaspar?
"Yes."
In the end, we learn, unsurprisingly, that he is still in contact with Noah. Hopefully for a future collaboration!
